Anderson Dale Bard, son of David and Veronica (Armstrong) Bard, died Monday afternoon, October 27, in San Pedro. He was 15.
A student at San Pedro High School's Marine Science Magnet, he had a wide variety of interests, including marine life, science fiction, astronomy and video game design. He was not always outgoing, but those fortunate to know him discovered a creative mind and a striking sense of humor.
Born in Torrance July 12, 1999, he spent his early years in California, before moving for a time with his family to Maine. He returned to California with them in 2005. In his short life he got to see much of the country, both while travelling east with his family, and also for excursions such as whale-watching in Hawaii, and observing a solar eclipse in the Lake Tahoe area.
He leaves behind his parents; grandparents Stan and Hope (Jolley) Bard, Hermitage, PA; grandparents Neil and Lynn Armstrong, Pahrump, NV; aunt Rachel Bard and family, West Dundee, IL; uncle Neil Armstrong and family, Manhattan, IL; uncle Robert Armstrong and family, Henderson, NV; uncle Scott Armstrong and family, Syracuse, UT; uncle James Armstrong and family, Belleville, IL; uncle Ralph Armstrong, San Pedro; great aunt Beth Jolley, Hermitage PA; great aunt Marilyn (Bard) Weisbrod and family, Lake Grove, NY; great aunt Carole Buckley and family, Shoreham, NY. A number of extended relatives also survive. He is preceded in death by his grandmother Margaret (McIlwee) Armstrong and aunt Miriam Bard.
Services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 6th at McNerney's Mortuary, with visitation prior, beginning at 3 p.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to Anderson's GoFundMe campaign, http://www.gofundme.com/gfnajk. Please sign the guestbook at mcnerneysmortuary.com or dailybreeze.com.
