Memorial for Lucy "Lee" LeVera DeKuyper

Born in Paris, TX on Oct. 3, 1929
Departed on Oct. 24, 2014 and resided in Albany, OR.

Lee DeKuyper, 85, of Albany, passed away Friday at home with family at her side.

She was born in Paris, Texas, the daughter of Thomas and Cora (Diacon) Parsons.

In March of 1934, at the age of 4 ½, she moved to Independence, Oregon for health reasons, (she and her father had contracted malaria fever while living in Texas). She lived in the Sidney, Ankeny Hill and Jefferson areas of Oregon, and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1948.

Lee met Adrian John DeKuyper and they were married Oct. 3, 1948 at the LDS church in Lebanon. Then, in 1961, they made Albany their home. She also graduated from LBCC with an associate's degree in accounting. She had attended both the Evangelical Church in Jefferson in her early years and most recently the United Methodist Church in Lebanon. Over the course of her life she became a talented seamstress, cook and quilter, creating many memorable meals and gifts for family and friends.

Lee is survived by her daughters; Adrianne "Anne" and husband Tony McLain, and Laurie "Lottie" DeKuyper; seven grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and good friend and neighbor Joy Bartel.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Adrian "Ade"; daughter Teresa Susnik; brothers Gordon, Lloyd, Olin and Floyd; and sisters Velma and Nora.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Evergreen Hospice in care of Fisher Funeral Home 306 SW Washington St. Albany, OR 97321.
