Mildred Day Daniels (Harris), born November 9, 1918 in a farm house in Butler County , Ohio, on the original Joseph Harris property, purchased by Joseph Harris in 1803 on what is now Harris Road, died on October 17, 2014, at Darby Glenn Nursing Home where she resided the last 4 years. She was youngest daughter of Arthur Everett and Clara Hoffman Harris. Mildred attended Miami University and graduated from Wilmington College with a B.A. in Education. She taught at South Vienna schools and retired from Northwestern Jr. High School, Springfield, Ohio after teaching 7th and 8th grade math for many years. Mildred and her husband, Darrell were founding members of St. Mark United Methodist Church in Springfield, Ohio. She was a brave, hard-working woman with a strong tolerance for pain and accepted physical loss with dignity and grace. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandma who made many sacrifices throughout her life for her children and grandchildren. She has "finished the race, well done and faithful" and has arrived in Heaven where she can forever hold Dad's hand. She is survived by her four children Deanna Levy (Neal) Newman, David Arthur (Helen) Daniels, James Marshall (Margaret) Daniels, and Jean (Joe) Howard, as well as her grandchildren, Dana Levy (Matthew) Sazinsky, Matthew Levy, Christopher Levy, Sarah Howard, Jeremiah (Erin) Kaplan, Rachel (Steve) Williard, Ron (Erin Johnson) Merritt, and great grandchildren, Davyn and Samara Sazinsky, Quinn and Declan Kaplan, as well as by her very dear sister in law Mary French (Richard) Daniels, numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews and their families and many friends. Her passing was predeceased by the love of her life, for 68 years, her "Superman" Darrell Daniels on August 23, 2014, by her beloved sister and brother in law, Dorothy Harris (Wilbur) Pierson, as well as her beloved brothers and sister in law, Robert (Connie) Daniels, Verla (Floyd) Estep, and Richard Daniels and her four cousins, her beloved childhood companions and their spouses, James, Robert, Mary Elizabeth and Dwight Harris. The family would like to thank Darby Glenn and especially Mom's special caregivers who provided such loving and tender care these past several years: Jackie, Amy, Alysa, Christy, Marcel, Patty, and Melissa. Visitation will be from 12 - 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 8th at St. Mark United Methodist Church, 2043 Memorial Drive, Springfield Ohio. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 1 p.m. with internment at South Solon Cemetery, Madison County.
