John C. Edwards, Jr., 46, of Wheeling W.Va., passed away Friday, October 24, 2014, at his home, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
John was born April 8, 1968, in Wheeling. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Operation Desert Storm, Desert Shield and Iraqi Freedom.
John is survived by his loving fiancée, Susan Bouzek of Wheeling; mother, Shirley (Nickerson) Whitlatch; step father, Bill Dorsey of Wheeling; sister, Kim Ross of Wheeling; brothers David (Veronica) Whitlatch of Weirton, W.Va., and Roy Whitlatch of Charleston, W.Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 pm, Monday, at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger St., Wheeling, where funeral services will be held at 11 am, Tuesday, October 28, 2014, with the Rev. Douglas Ondeck officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling, with full military honors provided by the Moundsville Veterans Honor Guard.
