CHILLICOTHE – Inis M. Griffith, 93, of Chillicothe, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 12:38 AM at Heritage Health in Chillicothe.
She was born May 8, 1921 to James D., Sr., and Marie (Ware) Taylor. Inis married Lloyd D. Griffith on April 5, 1943 in Lawton, Okla., he preceded her in death on October 5, 2005 in Quincy.
Inis is survived by her son, James Griffith of Chillicothe, her granddaughters Lisa (Jeff) Mantle of Chillicothe, and Lori Griffith of Rome, Ill., her great-granddaughters, Jamie Colvin and Jessica (Lester) Butts, both of Va, and Cassandra Mantle of Chillicothe, and her great-grandsons, Robert Ikemire and Justin Griffith, both of Rome, Ill.
Inis is preceded in death by her parents and daughter-in-law, Patricia Griffith.
She worked for many years and retired from the Bemis Bag Co. before becoming a full-time homemaker.
Inis enjoyed traveling and camping; and loved shopping and gardening.
A private burial will take place at Springdale Cemetery in Peoria.
