Funeral services for Dustin Lucas "Luke" Humphries, 24, of Edgewood, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday morning, October 21, 2014 at Cheatham Memorial United Methodist Church in Edgewood with Rev. Alan Van Hooser officiating. Interment will follow at Small Cemetery north of Edgewood under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.
He passed away early Saturday morning, October 18, 2014 in Dallas.
Luke was born April 2, 1990 in Mesquite, Texas, the son of William Henry Humphries, III and Carla Jean Wood Humphries. He was raised in Edgewood and graduated from Wills Point High School in 2007. After graduation, he attended El Centro Culinary School in Dallas. Luke was employed by Saltgrass Steak House, Del Frisco's and III Forks Steakhouse. He enjoyed cooking, bike riding, hunting, fishing and camping. Luke was an expert dirt bike racer and enjoyed racing in his spare time. He attended Cheatham Memorial United Methodist Church in Edgewood.
Preceded in death by his grandfather, Henry "Papa" Humphries; great-grandmother, Nola "Nan" Martin; sister, Krystal Rae Poteet and a cousin, Josh Sims.
Luke is survived by his parents, Hal & Carla Humphries, of Edgewood; grandparents, Pattizo & David Musselwhite, of Edgewood and Curtis & Janie Rohus, of Edgewood; aunts & uncles, Cindy & Kyle Oakley, of Terrell, Jacque & Don Spalding, of Denton, Johnnie & Jimmey Looney, of Edgewood, Judy & Gary Sims, of Edgewood, Inez Goggans, of Edgewood, Mona & Tom Malouf, of Wills Point and Bart Rogers, of Dallas and cousins, Matt Oakley, Lauren Oakley, Carolyn Sprayberry, David Clark, Jeffrey Looney, Misty Jackson, Regina Cox, Jennifer Bass, Kristy Jones, Kelley Goggans, Craig Malouf, Bryan Malouf, B. J. Rogers and Charlie Rogers.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
