Funeral services for Jane Young-Navarrette, 51 year old Buffalo woman who passed away suddenly Friday morning at her home in Buffalo, will be held Wednesday, October 1st at 10:00 a.m. from the Harness Funeral Home Chapel in Buffalo, with The Reverend Doug Wasinger officiating. Visitation will be held from the funeral home chapel on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Interment will be in Willow Grove Cemetery with graveside services to follow the funeral. Donations in Jane's name may be made to the Susie Bowling Lawrence Hospice in care of the Harness Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.harnessfuneralhome.com
Jane Diane Young Navarrette was born on December 20, 1962 in Buffalo, Wyoming to Marshall and Ella Young. She grew up and went to school in Kaycee and graduated from Kaycee High School in 1981. After high school she worked at various hospitality and restaurant jobs as well as radio stations in Buffalo and Sheridan. She was married on September 30, 1995 in Buffalo to Rafael Navarrette and they made their home in Buffalo. In 2003 she went to work for the BLM where she was an administrative assistant. She retired in 2013 from the BLM and continued living in Buffalo until her death.
Jane was a past board member of the Buffalo Women's Health Forum. She was a member of the Johnson County Republican women and the American Legion Auxiliary and record keeper for the American Legion Rider's Club. Jane was involved with Empower Wyoming and volunteered with many of the kids workshops. She enjoyed watching movies and was an avid Sci-Fi fan. Jane never stopped learning and was taking online classes pursuing a degree in psychology.
She is survived by her husband Rafael Navarrette of Buffalo; her mother Ella Young of Buffalo; two sisters, Edna Young of Buffalo and Michele Schluter and her husband Bob of Parkman, Wyoming; one brother Dave Young and his wife Bobbie of Gillette and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her father.
