Jean E. (Russell) Roberts, 87, of Winchendon, died peacefully Monday evening September 15, 2014 in Heywood Hospital, Gardner.
Jean was born in Winchendon, June 26, 1927, daughter of the late Elmer J. and Flora M. (Recard) Russell and has lived in Winchendon most of her life. Her beloved husband Harold E. Roberts and infant son, Harold E. Roberts, Jr. predeceased her.
During her lifetime, Jean worked at many different places from waitress at the Toy Town Tavern, seamstress at the Winchendon Dress Shop, assembler at Peterborough Ball Bearing and finally medical supplies inspector at C.R. Bard in Fitzwilliam.
Jean enjoyed walking to Mass at Immaculate Heart of Mary on Saturday afternoons, sewing, crocheting, and cooking. She was a dedicated, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Jean is survived by her daughters; Diane Van Dusen and husband Glenn of Montville, Maine, and Michele J. Darcy of Winchendon, her sister; Rachel Chapman of Fitzwilliam, three grandchildren; Jason Higgins, Devin Higgins, and Jennifer Duffy, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Jean was predeceased by her brother, Russ and her sister Ruth.
