ALEXANDRIA, IN-Jack L. Ice, 79, Alexandria passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at Community Hospital in Anderson following a brief illness.

Jack was born on May 17, 1935 to Leonard and Mary (McCune) Ice and resided in Alexandria all of his lifetime. He served his country in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1956. He worked at National Gypsum, formerly of Alexandria. Jack completed his high school education as a graduate of Alexandria High School-Class of 1961. He also attended Ball State University. He retired from Westinghouse/ABB of Muncie in 1995 after 33 years of employment.

Jack was a 57 year member of Alexandria American Legion and attended the Alexandria Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed lapidary, camping and bowled in the local church bowling league.
Family and being together with each other was a very important part of Jack's life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister-Billie Carter

Services honoring Jack's life will take place at 4 pm on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 in the Alexandria Church of the Nazarene, 1401 South Harrison Street with Pastor Mark Diemer officiating,
Interment with military honors by the United States Navy and the Elwood VFW Honors Team will follow in Park View Cemetery in Alexandria. Friends may call at the Alexandria Church of the Nazarene from 5 pm to 8 pm on Monday or after 3 pm on Tuesday prior to the services.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alexandria Church of the Nazarene through the funeral home.

Arrangements and family care have been entrusted to the Owens Funeral Home in Alexandria.
