Christopher "Chris" Neil Caughman of Piedmont, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at his home after a four month battle with cancer.
Christopher was a son of James Michael "Mike" and Gloria Burton Caughman of Piedmont. He was formerly employed by Fluor Corporation where he was an accomplished Principal Designer in the Structural Department. He was a member of Augusta Road United Methodist Church.
Christopher is survived by a son, Zachary Ryan Caughman and a daughter, Emily Claire Caughman, both of Loganville, GA. He is also survived by a sister, Shannon Renee Caughman of the home, and two nephews, Austin Ryan Weinrich of the home, and Michael Gregory Caughman of Grand Rapids, MI. He was predeceased by a brother, James "Jimmy" Michael Caughman, Jr.
Christopher had a great love of flowers and plants as well as a talent in art. He also had a special love for his cat "Cricket".
The family wishes to thank the McCall Hospice House, Dr. Mark O'Rourke and his staff and colleagues, as well as the numerous friends who supported Chris throughout his illness.
Visitation will be held Saturday, August 9, 2014 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Augusta Road United Methodist Church, 8324 Augusta Rd., Pelzer, SC. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the church with the Reverend Christopher Lollis officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens, Greenwood, SC.
Memorials may be made to McCall Hospice House, 1836 W. Georgia Rd., Simpsonville, SC 29680 or Augusta Road United Methodist Church, Pelzer, SC. Flowers permitted.
