David W.  Floyd
David Floyd, 75, peacefully left this earth on July 30, 2014 at his home near Columbiaville, surrounded by his family. He was born July 8, 1939 in East Detroit to Oral and Virginia (Luscomb)Floyd. Dave proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1956-1963, followed by 30 years of employment as a Pattern Repairman for Pontiac Motors. He than worked at the St. Paul Lutheran Church School lunchroom for 23 years. Mr. Floyd loved the students very much and often said "my kids keep me going".

David was an avid Harley rider and a member of the Lapeer HOG Chapter. He and wife Alice took many motorcycle trips throughout the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean, including a two-month trip to Alaska.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Alice (Heiser/Fifield), four children, David (Angela) of Arizona, Michele of Lapeer, Deborah (Mark) of Richland, MI and Michael (Angela) of North Branch; grandchildren: Kelly, Dillon, Joey, Shannon (Leroy), Ryan, Leah and Andrea; and great-grandson: Jaymes; brother: Thomas (Lora). David was preceded in death by his son: Kenneth in 1991; father in 1998; mother in 1999 and sister Dora (Todd) in 1999.

Mr. Floyd's visitation will be 3-8 PM Friday at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer and 10-11AM Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lapeer. David's funeral service will be 11:00AM Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Rev. John Kaiser and Rev. Marvin Ramthun officiating, with burial to follow in Hough Cemetery in Almont.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church School Scholarship Program, 90 Millville Rd., Lapeer, MI 48446 or charity of choice.
