Born in Manchester on Mar. 28, 1948
Passed Away Jul. 24, 2014 and resided in Manchester, NH.

Judi Buote Malcolm, 66, of Manchester, NH passed away on July 24, 2014, surrounded by her loving family at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.
Judi was born on March 28th, 1948 in Craig, Colorado, the daughter of the late Marilyn (Daly) Buote and Leo Buote.

Judi attended Manchester Memorial High School and was from the 1967 graduating class. She was passionate about social work and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work from the University of New Hampshire in 1971. While at UNH she was a member of the Alpha Zxi Delta sorority.
Judi met the love of her life, David Malcolm, during her education at UNH and they were married on September 7, 1968 surrounded by her Alpha Zxi Delta sorority sisters, and David's Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity brothers.

Following her graduation, Judi accepted a position with the State of New Hampshire Division of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) as a social worker. Judi was the longest working social worker in the state of New Hampshire at the time of her retirement. She retired after 42 years of dedicated service both in Manchester as an assessment worker and at the end of her career at the central intake office in Concord, NH.

Judi was a long time resident of Manchester, NH though she previously had a farm in Northwood, NH with her husband David where they bred thoroughbred race horses. The farm lovingly named by them Northwind Farm was located on Route 4 and was also home to a goat, and several dogs and cats. In Judi's younger years her love for horses led her to competitive jumping with many accolades.
Judi enjoyed reading, and was a voracious reader. She also enjoyed the company of her grandchildren and watching their sporting activities. Her grandchildren lovingly referred to her as "Nokum" which is Algonquian for Grandmother. Judi took pride in her Blackfoot Native American heritage. She also found a high interest for Yoga and Reiki after surviving breast cancer years prior. Judi found immense enjoyment being surrounded by family at Hampton Beach, Pawtuckaway Lake, or at a family pool party.
Judi was a regular giver to local charities, and paid special attention to charities that benefitted children, animals, and the environment. She was a longtime supporter of the Sierra Club and Manchester Animal Shelter. Judi has adopted many cats and dogs over the years and provided a loving home to each one.

Judi is survived by her husband of 45 years, David D. Malcolm of Manchester, NH; her daughter Sarah Bonneville and her husband Damien and their children Benjamin and Owen of New Boston, NH; her daughter Rachel LaVergne and her husband Aaron and their children Cadence and Tyler of Hooksett, NH; her adopted daughter Stacy Mullen and her son David "Pedro" Gabriel of Hooksett, NH; her father Leo Buote of Manchester, NH. Judi was predeceased by her mother Marilyn Buote on November 29, 2012.
Judi will be cremated by Goodwin Funeral Home, a resource Judi never forgot after they helped her with a client in the early years of her social work career. A celebration of her life will be set for a later date by the family.

In lieu of flowers Judi would like for donations to be made in her name to the Manchester Animal Shelter, 490 Dunbarton Road, Manchester, NH 03102
Judi and her family would like to say a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH for the care they provided not only to Judi, but the family during the end of her life.

Judi was a firm believer in the Golden Rule of, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you", and wanted this to be her message to the world.
