Rachel Grogan Wyman, beloved wife of 69 years to Floyd Hurst Wyman of Mauldin, SC, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2014, following a brief illness.
She is survived by three sons, Bob Wyman and wife Vickie, Jack Wyman and wife Donna and Jim Wyman and wife Amy, all of Greenville.
A native of Westminster, Rachel and her family moved to Mauldin in 1967. Since that time she was an active member at Mauldin First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir and participated in Women's Missionary Union. She was a retired employee of the School District of Greenville County, where she worked for over 20 years.
A loving grandmother to seven grandchildren, Rachel "Nanny" is survived by Brant Wyman and wife Ann of Simpsonville, Adam Wyman of Wilmington, NC, Leah Wyman Rouse and husband Jonathan of Irmo, Margaret Wyman Apple and husband Patrick of Raleigh, NC, Austin Wyman of Greenville, and Andrea and Allison Wyman of Greenville, along with four great grandchildren: Gabriel, Grayson and Lily Wyman of Simpsonville, and Anna Reese Apple of Raleigh.
Rachel was the daughter of the late Alma Mae "Amy" and Bob Grogan of Westminster and was pre-deceased by two brothers, Bob and Ned, and one sister, Willie Mae "Bill" Taylor.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 25, 2014 from 12:00-12:45PM at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home Southeast. The Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM in the chapel. Burial will follow at Oconee Memorial Park.
