Lettie Majors passed away peacefully in her home at the remarkable age of 101. Lettie was born on February 11, 1913 in Shenandoah, Virginia to James and Sally Majors. She was the last surviving child of their 13 children. Lettie moved to West Chester in the 1930's as a young lady to find work and was employed by the Railroad Company during World War ll. She worked for many years at the Nursery Time Company in West Chester and also provided domestic work for many families throughout the community.

Lettie loved The Lord, she was a proud member of Mount Carmel Church of God in Christ where she served on the Mother's Board. The church honored her as Grandmother of the Year in 1999. She was also recognized for her out pouring love to the community and her guidance and devotion to her family. For that she was awarded the key to the city by then Mayor Clifford E. DeBaptiste. Therefore, February 26, 2000 was proclaimed "Lettie Majors Day" in the Borough of West Chester.

Lettie known to most as "Nan" loved to bake and was well known for her squash pies and her delicious perfectly formed yeast rolls. She enjoyed Sunday dinners surrounded by her family. She also enjoyed word search puzzles, wearing her jewelry and getting her nails painted by her grandchildren. Lettie also loved to dance and was still dancing at a recent family function. She was also known for her joy of crocheting and many family members were recipients of her gift of love blankets given for a new addition to their family. What she loved most was making the trip back home to her birthplace to visit her extended family.

Lettie is preceded in death by one son Amos Majors and will leave behind a devoted daughter Frances Majors of West Chester. Lettie also leaves behind four generations of family, one daughter, Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and Great Great Grandchildren, a host of relatives and a abundance of family friends. Also two love and care providers Angie Quail and Mya Miller.

She will be missed by all who loved her.

Sorrowfully submitted by the family.
