Julia Calovini Orell, 98, of St.Clairsville, OH., passed away at home Tuesday April 22, 2014.
She was born May 15, 1915 at Irwin, PA., a daughter of the late Anibale and Elisa Facini Calovini. She was also preceded in death by her siblings; Anne Melchiori and John, Adolph, Joseph, Guido, Julius and Charles Calovini.
She was a 1933 graduate of Lafferty High School and a retired payroll clerk for Blaw Knox Co.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Senior Center of St.Clairsville and an avid bridge player for over 70 years.
Surviving are her daughter Judy, her husband Clarence Briggs of St.Clairsville, two grandchildren, Michael, his wife Georgina Briggs, Kennesaw, GA, Julie, her husband Kevin Bratton, McMechen, WV, her great grandchildren; Lauren Briggs, Katie Ratcliffe, Wyatt, Ted, Ryan and Kayla Bratton.
Friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 pm, Thursday at the Beck-Altmeyer Funeral Home & Crematory St.Clairsville, OH., where a vigil service will be held at 6 PM.
Julia's Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held Friday at 10 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Thomas Chillog the Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery Lafferty, OH.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary' Church.
