William P. "Bill" Kimpler, 93, Granite City, Illinois died Sunday, March 23, 2014 at Southeast Health Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
He was born October 9, 1920 to Peter and Alice (Thomas) Kimpler in Ellinwood, Kansas.
Bill married Kathryn Kimpler who preceded him in death on March 23, 1996.
Mr. Kimpler worked at US Steel as a tool and die maker for 25 years. He also owned and operated several restaurants and apartment buildings. Bill was a fiercely independent and unique man who will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Terry Kimpler; and sisters, Anita Stasik, Vivian Barnett, Marian Mitchell, and Patricia Zimmer.
Survivors: daughter, Sandra Stozek (Robert); daughter-in-law, Charlene Kimpler; sister, Mary Jane Lemmon; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
