Funeral service for Ewald E. Lang, Jr., 81, of Wills Point, is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 2, 2013, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Mr. Russell Harris officiating. Interment will follow at Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton.
He passed away Sunday evening, July 28, 2013, in Wills Point.
Ewald was born February 29, 1932, in Elmhurst, Illinois, the son of Ewald Erwin Lang, Sr. and Henrietta Landmeier Lang. In 1950, he graduated from Bensenville Community High School and later Tri-State University. Ewald was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served during the Korean Conflict. On June 10, 1975, he married Karen Ellis. Ewald was employed by Electrocom Automation in Arlington, where he served as vice president, retiring in 1993. He enjoyed taking care of his dogs, Willie and Tina. Ewald loved all his grandchildren and was proud of his grandson's baseball careers. He also enjoyed researching his family's genealogy which was primarily German, learning more about military history, painting, farming, riding his tractor and watching sports. He lived in Trophy Club prior to moving to Wills Point in 1993.
Preceded in death by his parents and a son, David Lang.
Ewald is survived by his wife, Karen Lang; two sons, Roger Lang and William Lang; daughter, Linda Lang; step-son, Clay Kendrick & wife, Tracy; step-daughter, Amber Ireland & husband, Terry; brother, Robert Lang; three grandchildren, Roger Lang, Catlan Kendrick and Conner Kendrick.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service
