Logan attended grade school at St. Patrick School in London, Ohio, and was currently a senior (class of 2013) at Jonathan Alder High School. Logan had just been accepted to Bowling Green State University where he was planning to attend in the fall. Attended Bible Believers Fellowship Church in Worthington, Ohio.
Logan loved God, his family and friends above all. He was kind, thoughtful, considerate and had a smile that could light up a room. He was a man of few words and when he spoke he meant what he said. He never had an unkind word to say about anyone. He believed in the salvation of his Lord and savior Jesus Christ and he is in heaven right now waiting to reunite with his family on that wonderful day.
From his dad Logan learned to hunt, trap, fish, respect others and how to look someone in the eye and give a firm handshake. With his mom he enjoyed discussing current events, religion and politics as well as cracking up to Will Ferrell comedy movies and singing old '70s and '80s songs together in the car on frequent road trips. His sister was his best friend, they loved to laugh, joke, tease and just enjoy each others company. Logan was looking forward to being a part of Meghan and Scotts upcoming wedding.
Logan's hero was his grandma Mary Hammond who fed him his favorite home cooked meals, taught him right from wrong, slipped him extra gas money and cheered him on at every soccer game.
Logan was full of life, strength and courage who packed a lifetime into 18 short years. He loved action and adventure, boating, swimming, skiing, wakeboarding, tubing, snowboarding, weight lifting, running track and running marathons were just some of his interests but where Logan excelled was on the soccer field.
Logan began playing soccer at age 5 with the London Kiwanis program under the coaching of friend, Jeff Stiffler. He played for St. Patrick School with his best friend Jon Laforge where he was coached by his dad and long time family friend Steve LaForge. The team enjoyed lots of good times and lots of success on the field.
Logan was a 4 year varsity starter for Jonathan Alder High School being coached under Ivan Mast and David Lanka. Logan was awarded the Freshman Newcomer Award, Madison County All Star, Plain City Athlete of the Week, All Central District Division 2 1st team, Captains Award and team MVP. His teammates and friends were like a family to him.
Logan traveled many miles with his traveling elite soccer teams, Team Ohio FC Juventus and Cincinnati United Premier Crew Juniors with the best coaches in the State of Ohio, Brian Parsons, John McGinlay and Bobby Puppione. Logan was blessed to have had the opportunity to play teams and meet players from all over the country and overseas. The teams enjoyed many successes, winning countless tournaments and state cup titles as well as regional success. Logan was a member of the Ohio South Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program, a Nike ID2 Region 2 Selection, he represented Ohio South in Illinois at the regional level as a member of the Olympic Development Team. He served as his team captain and was a quiet, respected leader on the field.
Logan was a happy, kind, thoughtful, humble young man who blessed the lives of all who knew him. He has touched the lives of so many and will continue to do so as his memory lives on.
