Eric K. Burns, 61, of New Britain, beloved husband of 38 years to Christine (Lampkin) Burns, passed away Saturday (March 2, 2013) at his home. Born in Appling, GA, son of the late William Burns and Emily (Mormon) Burns Luke, Eric has lived in New Britain for the last 37 years. A U.S. Army veteran, he was employed at Lowe's, GE and Rand & Whitney.
Besides his wife Christine, he leaves four children, Eric and Jason Burns and Kyle and Tonya Gill; six grandchildren, Tyree, Avia and Melanie Burns; Charlie Lugo, Taniya Jones and Jose Colon; three brothers, Pierce Luke, Jr., and William and Jerry Burns; two sisters, Willa Mae Dent and Louise Childs; several nieces and nephews. Eric was predeceased by a brother, Clerence Burns.
Funeral services will be held Friday 12 (noon) at McCullough Temple, 55 Chapman Street, New Britain. Burial will follow in the CT Veterans Cemetery in Middletown. Calling hours will be at McCullough Temple on Friday from 10 AM until the time of the service. The Carlson Funeral Home, New Britain is assisting the family with arrangements.
