Jerry E. Phelps, Sr.

Jerry E. Phelps, Sr., age 70, of Chesapeake City, MD, died Saturday, January 12, 2013. Born in Keystone, WV on November 5, 1942, he was the son of the late Woodrow Sr. and Martha Combs Phelps.

Mr. Phelps was a welder/fabricator by trade. He enjoyed his family and his friends. He also enjoyed drag racing and being outdoors.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Sandy; children, Bill Phelps, Larry Phelps and wife, Debbie, Earleville, MD, Jerry Phelps, Jr. and wife, Dawn, Robin Raines and husband, Johnie, Kevin Phelps and wife, Sherry, and Jettie Leffew, Elkton, MD, Debra Pierce and husband, Jim, Colora, MD, Peter Guy and wife, Annette, Salvatore "Sam" Guy and wife, April, Salem, NJ, Tina Guy, Ocean City, NJ, Robin Garrett and husband, Joe, Chesapeake City, MD and Sandra Phelps and fiancé, Felix Wells, Cecilton, MD; sister, Lois Adams, Perryville, MD, 39 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Phelps was preceded in death by his stepfather, John C. Brady Adams and siblings, Woodrow Phelps, Jr. and Larry J. Phelps, Sr.

Funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, January 18, 2013 at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton St., Elkton, MD 21921, where visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Cherry Hill, MD.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pleasant Hill Worship Center in care of the funeral home.
