Betty A Salsman, 84, a resident of Grays Harbor County for 51 years, passed away on May 30, 2015 at Olympic West Retirement Inn in Tumwater, WA. Betty was born on October 1, 1930 in Springfield, MO to Archie C and Cleo Sloan. She was raised in Springfield and graduated from high school.
On September 3, 1947 she married J.B. Salsman in Ozark, MO. Together they had three sons, Rick, Dexter, and Rod. Betty worked as a Grange Insurance Agent and also owned a Stihl chainsaw shop with her husband. She was a Grange member for 51 years and enjoyed gardening, birds and reading.
Betty is survived by her three sons; Rick (Mary) Salsman, Goodyear, AZ; Dexter (Carol) Salsman, Toledo, WA; Rod (Nancy) Salsman, Olympia, WA; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Her siblings Marjorie Flood of Springfield, MO; Jimmy Sloan of Heath, OH.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Archie C. Sloan, Delilah McDaniel, and Donald Sloan and her husband J.B Salsman.
A Gravside Inurnment Service is set for 11 AM Friday, July 10, 2015. Celebration of Life is immediately following the service at the Elma Grange Hall in Elma, WA.
