Winona Emily (Charron) Brower

Winona Emily (Charron) Brower, "Nonie" passed away on May 23, 2015. She was 99 years old.

Nonie was born on April 16th, 1916 to Joseph and Eva (Boileau) Charron from South Bend, Washington. She graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1936.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ted and her son Richard. Nonie also had five sisters Ida, Delma, Bertha, Blanche, Eva and her brother Eddie.

Surviving family are her sons: Comet Theodore Jr and his wife BJ, and Jerry Edward Brower. Her surviving granddaughters are Kellie, Stacey, Rayna, and Megan. Grandsons are Comet III, Jerry Jr, and Richard Jr., along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Nonie loved golfing, gardening, crewel, tatting and needlepoint. She had a strong appreciation for music where she sang with the Aqua Notes music group and performed at various nursing homes. Nonie also enjoyed dancing with her nephew Clyde Ellis.

Nonie was involved with the Cosmopolis Rebekah Lodge #36 Noble Grand, Tanamaka Club, President of the YMCA Auxillary #5 and #7, and the Red Cross (She drove an ambulance for the Evening Watch Tower during World War II!)

She was very dedicated and proud to be an Avon Sales Representative for 38 years.

Nonie's favorite quotes were: "Her mama always told her she was born hungry" and "Life is what you make it".

Special thanks go out to Sue Homchick for including her in all of the holiday gatherings, and Saturday visits at her home. A special "Thank You" to Ron Giuntoli for all of the Friday night gatherings with friends.
Special appreciations are sent to the wonderful neighbors, Dr. Scott, his wife Aries and daughter Judy Mae Wright who visited often and brought their dog Molly. Such great medicine. Jeri Bell for all the fancy cookies that you made and brought over. Dr. Mel Strange for all of his loving care and compassion. The family would also like to recognize Nonie's caregivers who took such loving care of her. They are Judy (her niece), Betty, Eileen, Marlene, Darlene, and Cleo.

Nonie's service will be June 4th 2015 at 1:00PM at St. Mary's Church, 306 E 3rd St, Aberdeen, WA 98520. Visitation will be from 11AM to 1PM before the service. Reception will follow service in the Parish Hall.
