Duane Gilbert Buckingham, 77, longtime resident of Elma, Wash. went peacefully in his sleep to be with the Lord on April 10, 2015 in his home.
He was born in Elma on March 23, 1938 to Gilbert and Edith Buckingham. He was a Father, Brother, Son and Army Veteran and will be greatly missed. Duane worked in the timber industry most of his life but his life's passion was farming, hunting and working with his horses. He was a longtime attendee of both the Montesano and Elma Church of God. He is survived by his four children Shirly, Samuel, Shannon and Steven, 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews which he loved all of them very much. There will be a viewing at Whiteside Family Mortuary in Elma from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, April 17th and a Celebration of his Life service on Saturday, April 18th at 1 p.m. at the Elma Church of God. Memorials in his honor can be made to the Elma Church of God.
