Robert Dean Oien, 46, a lifelong resident of the Matlock area has passed away on February 22, 2015 at his home. Robert was born in McCleary, November, 12th 1968 to Robert L. Oien of Elma, WA and Claudia F. Ramey of Shelton, WA.
Robert known to many as "Bobby," enjoyed the outdoors, was an avid hunter, and fisherman. He enjoyed many years doing both sports with his father Bob. Bobby was a fabulous artist, loved carpentry work, and loved making things with wood, whether it was carving wood or building homemade horn lamps, horn mounts, bed frames, cribbage boards etc. If he had a vision or idea, he made it! He was crafty and talented to amazing extremes. Bobby will forever be remembered by those for being a person who would do anything for you. He had an outstanding level of kindness, never ending love and a giving personality. His personality with whom he shared it with on a more personal level, will be remembered by us as the lucky ones. Bobby was a practical joker at heart, and had remarkable success with pulling off a prank. Bobby loved to travel, but his heart was always at the "riverbottom".
Bobby attended Mary M. Knight School, and played football and baseball.
Bobby was proceeded in death by paternal grandparents Ruby A. Oien and Wilbur A. Oien. Maternal grandparents Claude Beerbower and Melba E. Beerbower. Survivors include his Mother Claudia Ramey of Shelton, Father Robert Oien of Elma, his son Caleb Tornquist of Texas, daughter Amanda Allery-Oien of Elma, and sister Kari Toppano of Shelton.
Bobby leaves behind numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends, all whom loved him dearly.
Services will be held Saturday, March 7th, 2015, at Whiteside Funeral Home in Elma at 11a.m.
