Clara Marie (Heppe) Blatchford, a 48-year Grays Harbor resident, passed-away in Olympia on Sunday, March 3, 2013 in Olympia. She was 64. Clara was born August 6, 1948 in Elma, Washington to Curtis and Virginia (Mann) Heppe. She grew up in Elma and is a graduate of Elma High School's class of 1966. Clara married Paul Blatchford December 15, 1979. He survives her in the family home in Elma. In addition to Elma, she lived in Alaska for 16-years. Clara was active in Relay for life of East Grays Harbor and she was currently the District 5 VFW Auxiliary President. She loved going to the Senior Center to sew or to just hang out. She loved hanging out and spending as much time as she could with her grandchildren and kids. She also enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews and volunteer work at the Fair where she served as Superintendent in crafts and hobbies. In addition to her husband, Paul, Elma and her mother, Virginia Heppe, Elma, children; Lonnie "Lover" McConnell, Karyn "Sissy" (David) Coonse, Robert "Boober" McConnell and grandchildren; DJ Coonse, Lizzi Coonse, Joshua Hughes, Conner McConnell and Krisie (Jeremy) Stewart and Donetta Shivel and Great-grandchildren; Logan, Leeum and Madalynn Stewart. Clara is also survived by her sister, Nonita (Tom) Dixon and brothers; James (Nora) Heppe and Rodney Heppe and nieces; Kari Jo Polzin, Dawn Lewis, Grace Heppe, Brandy Heppe, Dea Heppe, Donnita Clark and nephews; Ryan Dixon, Brent Heppe, Jay Heppe, Nic Heppe, Wiley Heppe and 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Clara is preceded in death by her father, Curtis Heppe, son, Jimmy McConnell, son, Dougie Harner, sister, Betty (Heppe) Early, nephew, Chipper Early, brother, Carl Heppe, grandmother, Charlotte Mann and lots of other family.
Memorial services will begin at 2PM Sunday, March 17, 2013 at the Grays Harbor County Fairgrounds meeting room. A potluck will follow.
