Larry Keith Albert 77, LaPaz Indiana passed away peacefully on Friday July 1, 2016 at his home surrounded by family. Born in LaPaz Indiana to Garland and Goldie Albert, he lived the entirety of his life in LaPaz.
Larry was a hardworking man enjoyed being outdoors. Early in his life he farmed his family farm, worked in the maintenance department at McCord Heat Transfer, later he worked many years as groundskeeper at Swan Lake Gold Academy. He was a member of the LaPaz FFA, LaPaz volunteer fire department, Marshall County Sheep Breeders Assoc., and a longtime leader for Marshall County 4-H.
Larry was extremely loving and proud of his three children, Cary Albert and his husband Scott Bogue, Shelly Norman and her husband David, and Melissa Colvin and her husband Kevin, all of LaPaz. He is also survived by his loving wife Marilyn (Veney) Albert, his sister Luella Staner, his brother Louis Albert and his wife RuthAnn; and sister –in-law Gloria Jean Albert. Larry was preceded in death by brother Chester Albert. He took great joy in watching his nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren in their sports and events. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The Van Gilder Funeral Home is honored to be caring for the Larry Keith Albert family and wish to express our deepest heartfelt condolences to the family. A funeral service for Larry will be on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with one hour prior visitation at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street Plymouth, Indiana 46563 with Pastor Vickie VanNevel of the Northwest United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Fair Cemetery.
A time of visiting with the Albert family will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Larry's name to LaPaz Volunteer Fire Department or Centers for Hospice Care.
