HANNA CITY – Phyliss R. Utley, 79, of Hanna City, died peacefully with her family present, at 12:22 p.m., Sunday, June 25, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Born August 17, 1937 in Glasford , a daughter of James and Margaret Linchenberg Cassidy; she married Charles T. Utley, Sr., on November 26, 1953 in Tonica, Mississippi; he preceded her in death on March 13, 2013 in Glasford.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; her son, Charles T. Utley, Jr.; grandson, Charlie J. Utley; and several brothers and sisters.
Surviving is daughter, Sherry Lynn (Dewitt) Spurlock of Pekin; son, Thomas Edward (Jain-Hong) Utley of Abingdon; daughter, Joyce Ellen (Dan) Kacvinsky of Washington; son, Anthony Carl (Mary) Utley of Brimfield; daughter, Angela (Anthony) Fryxell of Hanna City; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; a half brother, David (Nadine) Spence of Florida and several nieces and nephews.
Phyliss was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother.
She was a Girl Scout Troop leader. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, camping, animals and traveling. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal and St. Louis Blues fan. She and her husband held season tickets with the Peoria Rivermen for several years.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June, 29, 2017 at The Wilton Mortuary in Peoria, where Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
