PEORIA—Donald R. Ginz, 82, of Peoria, passed away at 9:18 a.m. Sunday, May 14, 2017 at UnityPoint Health – Methodist.
Donald was born July 1, 1934 in Urbana, Illinois to Edwin and Thelma Smith Ginz.
He is survived by Sandra G. (fiancé) with whom he made his home and life. Also surviving are his children: Lori Ann Stapleton of Peoria, Susie Kate (Gary) Callow of Peoria, JR (Lorraine) Ginz of East Peoria, Heather (Carl "JB") Inselmann of Delavan; his grandchildren: Anthony, Ashley-Nichole, Emily, Jon, Kara, Michael and Tyler and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Don graduated from Woodruff High School and retired from Prudential Insurance Company in 1991.
He was a member of the Kickapoo Sportsman Club. He played the sax, clarinet and bongos. He enjoyed small engines and performing small engine repair, spending time in his garage and had a love of old cars and westerns. Don will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Services were previously held and were private.
