Blanche I. DuQuenne, age 90, of Peoria, IL, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Liberty Village in Peoria.
Blanche was born on August 11, 1926 in Fulton Co., IL to Henry Z. and Harriett (Hendee) Johnson. She married James P. Smith in August 1962 and he preceded her in death in June 1972. She later married Frank J. DuQuenne on December 9, 1989 and he preceded her in death on January 28, 1990. She is also preceded in death by her daughter, Charlene McCammon and her brother, Joseph Johnson.
Surviving is her son, William "Bill" (Danielle) Busby of Mechanicsville, VA; three grandchildren, Patrick Busby of Washington, Shane McCammon of Wisconsin and Relyn Busby of Peoria; and two great-grandchildren.
Blanche was the supervisor for Illinois Bell Telephone Company for 36 years, retiring in 1986; and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She also worked for South Side Mission.
Services will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 10am at The Wilton Mortuary. Rev. Lauren Padgett will be officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown.
