Edith "Edie" Albright, age 92, of Peoria died at 12:45 am on February 25, 2017 at Methodist Unity Point Hospital.

Born July 2, 1924 in Tremont IL to William and Ida (Bolliger) Unsicker, she married Eugene F. Albright on April 20, 1946 in Peoria IL. He died April 9, 1986.

Surviving are three sons Mark (Nancy) of Bloomington IL, Steven (Susan) of Peoria Heights and Lee of Peoria, two daughters Jill Wittert of Peoria and Jan (Kenneth) Yalowitz of Seattle WA, seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. Also one brother Sylvan (Helen) of East Peoria, two sisters Lorraine Frederick and Marilyn (Keith) Toepfer of Tremont IL and many nieces and nephews.

Her parents, seven brothers Alvin, Henry, Clarence, Elmer, Vernon, Bill, and Ben, two sisters Dorothy Pflederer and Eunice McMullin preceded her in death.

A graduate of Tremont High School and the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing, she worked at Pekin and Methodist Hospitals and later for the Visiting Nurses Association of Peoria for twenty-six years, retiring in 1986.

Edie was a volunteer for the Heart of Illinois Harvest from 1993 to 2011. She was a member of The Methodist Medical Center College of Nursing Alumni Society.

She was a member of Grace and Peace Lutheran Church. Her visitation will be held at the church from 10am until 11:30am after which there will be a Celebration of Life service starting at 11:30am on Saturday, March 4, 2017. Cremation rites have been accorded. Wilton Mortuary is in charge of the services. Memorial contributions may be made to her church, the Heart of Illinois Harvest or a charity of the donor's choice.
