BARTONVILLE—Sarah L. Segler, 80, of Bartonville, passed away at 1:55 a.m. Friday, October 3, 2014 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
Sarah was born May 16, 1934 in Peoria to Clarence and Mabel Howerton Prince. She married Robert Goodapple May 16, 1951 in Peoria. She later married Robert L. Segler March 15, 1958 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on January 4, 2011 in Peoria.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; one brother, James Prince; one son, Roger Segler; one son-in-law Jose Madrigal and one granddaughter, Nicole Segler.
She is survived by her daughters, Valerie Sloka, Deborah (Larry)Trollope, Cynthia Madrigal, Sandra Segler, and her daughter-in-law, Sheri Segler; her sons, Bradley (Sue) Goodapple, George (Robin) Segler; fifteen grandchildren and 29 great-great grandchildren.
Sarah attended Manual Training High School. She worked for several grocery stores, last working at Super Value in Pekin as head cashier and bookkeeper.
She attended Elevated Church in Morton.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, October 6, 2014 at The Wilton Mortuary in Peoria where visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Her daughter, Deborah Trollope will officiate. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Bartonville.
By Sarah's request, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Midwest Affiliate.
