PEORIA – Catherine V. Osborne, 97, died at 11:15 a.m., Monday, December 23, 2013, at Lutheran Hillside Village in Peoria.
She was born September 21, 1916, in Peoria, to James and Katherine Wolgan Vaughan. She married Hurley C. Osborne on May 8, 1948, in Peoria. He preceded her in death on January 24, 1992, also in Peoria.
Also preceding her in death are her parents and an infant son, David Hugh Hurley Osborne.
She was a teacher with Peoria Public Schools for 36 years, spending 34 years at Longfellow School, retiring in 1973.
She was a graduate of Pastalozzi Froebel Teachers College in Chicago and the Peoria Kindergarten Teaching School.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Peoria, the National and Illinois Education Associations; the National, Illinois and Peoria Retired Teachers Associations.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 5, 2014, at the Waters of Life Chapel at Lutheran Hillside Village in Peoria. The Rev. Mark Nelson will officiate.
Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or Lutheran Hillside Village in Peoria.
The Wilton Mortuary in Peoria is in charge of arrangements.
