A Funeral Mass celebrating the life of Carlos (Chale) Vittonel, 50, of Lockhart, is set for 4:00 p.m. Friday, October 7, 2011 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Somerville with Fr. Nock Russell acting as Celebrant. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 pm. Thursday, October 6th at Strickland Funeral Home in Somerville. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will follow the Mass at Rest In Peace Cemetery in Snook.
Chale, as he was known to his family and friends, was born April 20, 1961 in Caldwell to Jose Vittonel, Sr. and Ninfa Esparza Vittonel. He attended school in Bryan and in Somerville and worked in concrete construction all of his life. He enjoyed hunting and football, but especially enjoyed the outdoors. Chale will be missed by family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Jovita Vittonel, and a brother, Raul Vittonel, Sr. He is survived by his wife Amy Vittonel of Lockhart; his daughter, Anessa of Lockhart along with his step-children, Alicia and her husband Joseph Gonzalez, Robert, Ryan , Audrey, and Ariana, all of Lockhart; he is further survived by his brothers, Ben and Mary Bitonel of Dumas, Jose Vittonel, Jr. and Juanita Vittonel of Clay, Johnny and Marilyn Vittonel of Indiana, Frank and Erma Vittonel of Somerville; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Elena and Gonzalo Garza of Monte Alto, Mary and Tony Almanza of Bryan, and Beatrice and David Burrell of Liberty Hill; along with a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives plus a host of friends.
