Gay Nell Gillespie, 88, of Caldwell died on February 28, 2016 in Caldwell, Texas
Gay Nell was born March 19, 1927 to Nathan Bloom DeGraffenried and Bessie Imogene Moore DeGraffenried in Beaumont, Texas. She married Carl William Gillespie on June 21, 1945 in Camden, Arkansas. They had enjoyed 62 years of marriage at the time of his death.
They owned their own heating and air conditioning business for 35+ years before retirement. Gay Nell was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Beaumont for 50 years, before transferring to Caldwell First United Methodist in 2009. She did volunteer work at The McFaddin Ward House in Beaumont and she loved to travel worldwide.
Gay Nell is survived by son, Carl Michael Gillespie of Maxwell, Iowa; daughter, Sherrie Prestenbach of Caldwell; brother, Nathan Oren DeGraffenried of Lockhart; grandchildren, Michele Lynn Everts, Aaron Michael McIntosh, Sylvia Gillespie, Grafton Gillespie; great grandchildren, Creed Lynn Everts, and Chele Lynn Everts.
She was preceded in death you her parents and her husband.
Gay Nell will be buried in Beaumont where she lived for 81 years.
