Guadalupe Arredondo, 88, of Somerville went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, July 22, 2015. She was born on December 12, 1926 in Gay Hill, TX. Visitation is set for Friday, July 24, 2015 at Strickland Funeral home in Somerville, Texas from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. A rosary will be recited at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 7 p.m., Friday, July 24, 2015. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, July 25, 10 a.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church with interment at Oaklawn Cemetery.
Guadalupe, fondly known as Lupe, was a loving mother, grandmother, Godmother and friend. On August 25, 1946, she united in holy matrimony to Santiago Arredondo at St. Ann's Catholic Church. They were married for 68 beautiful years. She was part of St. Ann's Altar Society and was a long-time member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Lupe was owner of The Hair Boutique for several years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Santiago Arredondo, son, Michael Arredondo, grandson, Remigio Casanova III, parents, Gonzalo Orozco, Josefa Ortega Orozco, three brothers and one sister.
She is survived by her daughters, Vicky Donohoe and husband Gordon, Jane Alice Casanova, son, Christopher J. Arredondo, grandchildren, Heather Leisey and husband Jason, Kim Ladewig and husband Kevin, Amanda Towslee, Cristina Duran and husband Michael, Lindsay Stroup, Adrian Arredondo, Olivia Arredondo, Reuben Arredondo, great-grandchildren, Danielle Donohoe, Gabby Donohoe, Leah Towslee, Dillon Towslee, Jacie Towslee, Elvis Stroup, Revel Stroup, Lila Williams, Christopher Duran, brothers, Benino Orozco, Miguel Orozco and wife Clementine, sisters, Marcos Vega, Dometila Portales and husband Danny, Marcelina Maldonado and husband Frank, Mary Robledo and husband Ben, Phyllis Garcia and husband David and long-time caregiver and friend Connie Moreno.
Pallbearers are Adrian Arredondo, Reuben Arredondo, Robert Orozco, John Alfred Orozco, Danny Portales, Lorenzo Orozco, Jr. and Frank Maldonado, Jr.
Honorary Pallbearers are Paul Vega and Pete Orozco.
