Harold G. Wilson
Age 81, of Canton, passed away Thursday December 19, 2013 in Rose Lane Health Center. He was born February 24, 1932 in Mannington, WV to the late Paul A. and Zana V. (Hockenberry) Wilson. Harold was a Canton area resident since 1950 and was a Korean War Army veteran. He retired from The Timken Company in 1990 after 39 years of service and retired from Stark County Board of Developmental Disabilities in 2009 after 18 years of service. Harold was a member of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church. He is preceded in death by one brother, Paul A. Wilson Jr.; one sister, Sarah Margaret Snodgrass. He is survived by his wife, Shirley A. (Schmalstieg) to whom he was married 61 years; two daughters and a son-in-law, Pamela and Dave Warrick of Canton, Sherry Wilson of Canton; adopted daughter, Dina Maurer of N. Canton; six grandchildren, John (Elise) Heaton Jr., Kimberly (Shane) Liebi, Tristan (William) Essex, Heidi Heaton, Jordan Rickus and Ian Maurer; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Bill Wilson of Zanesville; one sister, Edna Butler of West Virginia. Funeral services will be Monday December 23, 2013 at 1:00pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home with Rev. L. Scott Bacon officiating. Entombment in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
