Cedric O. Rudd, 59, of Galion, died Sunday, June 17, 2012 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, after a recent illness.
Born June 27, 1952 in Marlinton, W. Va., he was the son of the late Giley R. and Maggie F. (Holmes) Rudd. He was preceded in death on Nov. 3, 2009 by his wife, Debra J. (Frost) Rudd whom he married on June 22, 1974.
He retired from the former Galion Dresser where he was a welder and later worked at Meijer Department Store in Mansfield. In his spare time Cedric loved to go fishing and watch westerns on television. He also loved his boy, Sprocket.
He is survived by one daughter, Krystal Clark of Cardington; one son, John Rudd of Bucyrus; three grandchildren, Alexis, Colten and Rebeka Clark; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Georgia Jean Kelso of Galion and Nancy and Kenneth Shuster, Jr. of Galion; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Dr. Rupert Rudd of New Washington, Dale and Fran Rudd of Fairfax Station, Va., Robert Rudd of Galion and Sue Rudd of Crestline, his mother-in-law, Marjorie Riddlebaugh of Galion and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil and Rushel Rudd.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home in Galion where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 21, with Pastor Rodney Noblit officiating. Burial will be in Crawford County Memory Gardens.
