James D. Schneider Sr., age 80 of Chatham, Ohio passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Hospice of Medina County.
He was born May 20, 1937 in Cleveland, Ohio to Adelbert and Laverne (Villowack) Schneider.
He grew up in the North Royalton and Strongsville area, and later served with the Army National Guard.
Jim was an Operating Engineer, and was retired from Medina Excavating.
He had been a Mounted Deputy Sheriff with the Medina County Sheriff's Department, and was a Lieutenant with the Chatham Volunteer Fire Department.
Jim was a cowboy at heart. He loved his mules, and enjoyed reading and watching westerns, pre 1840's camping and rendezvous, and the company of family and friends.
He is survived by his Lifetime Partner, Nancy Gray

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Dan Schneider.
The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the staff at Medina Hospice for Jim's care.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Parker Funeral Home, 210 Medina St., Lodi (330-948-1122), where funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 AM.
Pastor Mark Teal will officiate.
Burial will follow at Chatham Cemetery.
