Mary Ruth Grimm, 93, smiled her last time on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017. "Mom, Nana, M.R." left a rich and beautiful handprint on this world. Our mom cooked countless meals, baked dozens of delicious pies and cookies, rocked and adored many babies, grew the prettiest flowers in her gardens, made beautiful quilts and samplers, and took great pride in her home and family. Mom enjoyed competition in cards and games which she loved teaching to her children and grandchildren. Home was the place for parties and fun where family and friends were always welcomed. She was born March 26, 1923 in Cambridge, Ohio to William and Lena (Black) Schultz. With her four sisters; hiking in the woods and "skipping" school to see the World Premiere of "Gone with the Wind" in 1939 were favorite childhood memories. She was married to Edwin "Pete" Grimm (deceased) for 61 years. Together they worked hard and built a lifetime of memories, accomplishments, friendships, and fun for so many. Our parents had the gift of hospitality, and loved times with their children, grandchildren and the "Greats" most of all. Their great "Kids" are Pete (Marsha) Grimm, John (Janet) Grimm, Kathleen (Ken) Pramik, Susan (Ted) Gerber, and Elizabeth (Tim) Ramsburg. Beautiful Grands include Mary Ann (Troy) Crislip, Pete Grimm, Cynthia Grimm, Nathan (Kerry) Pramik, Jennifer (Bryan) Hollinger, Nick Pramik, Amanda Grimm, Patrick (Jordan) Gerber, and Jason Grimm. Amazing Great Grands are Leann (Mike) Archinal, Megan (Jesse) Baer, Rachel Crislip, Lauren, Findlay, Jace and Naomi Hollinger; and KP and Cash Pramik. Precious Great-Great Grands are Emma, Hannah, and Jacob Archinal; and Adam, Paige and Leslie Baer. The road from a bustling household to living alone to assisted living to nursing care, was met by our mom with courage, good cheer, positivity and endless smiles. The caring and loving folks at The Danbury North Canton, The Inn at White Wood, The Windsor, and Crossroads Hospice did an amazing job embracing and loving our mom over the last years. Thanks to all. Pastor Diana Thompson will conduct Lutheran Funeral Services at 1:00 PM on Monday, Feb. 6, at the Parker Funeral Home, 210 Medina St., Lodi, OH (330-948-1122). Calling hours will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Burial will follow the service at Woodlawn Cemetery in Lodi.
