Biography: Mary Ruth was a graduate of Alexandria High School-Class of 1951. Her full time job was as a mother, housewife and foster mom. She worked part-time at the Green Thumb and Leewin's Floral Company both formerly of Alexandria. She had also worked at the Alexandria-Monroe High School cafeteria. She was a former member of the Alexandria Order of the Eastern Star and the Alexandria Eagles Auxiliary. She was a 25 year member of the Madison County Shrine Club. Mary Ruth enjoyed playing the piano and crocheting, but received the most pleasure from her family.
Survivors: 7 CHILDREN-Sherry (Jim) Rebuck-Elwood, Terry (Melody) Richardson, Jeff (Rhonda) Richardson, Larry Richardson, Robert (Roxanna) Cowart all of Alexandria, Lynette (Jim) Spencer-Marion, Cindy (George) Lakin-Upland

Preceded in death by: Her parents, husband-Norman Dean Cowart in 2007, son-Dean Cowart Jr., 2 sisters-Norma Guffy, Correne Richardson, a brother-Larry Lundy
Funeral Service Time and Day: Funeral services will take place at 3 pm in the Noffze Funeral Home, 501 North Harrison Street, Alexandria
Officiating: Pastor Tom Schuurman, Ron Richardson
Interment: Will follow in Park View Cemetery in Alexandria
Visitation: Friends may call at the Noffze Funeral Home after 1 PM on Monday prior to the service
Memorial Contributions: Are suggested to SouthernCare Hospice through the funeral home
The family ask that attendees at the services come dressed casually
