Charles (Buddy) Keifer Sr., 87, of Bloomfield, passed away on Tuesday July 4th, 2017.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the O'Boyle Funeral Home, 309 Broad St. Bloomfield on Friday at 9 AM. The funeral mass will be offered at Sacred Heart Church, 76 Broad St. Bloomfield at 10 AM. Interment Private. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4-8 PM.
Born in Newark, Buddy lived in Newark, Irvington and the last 59 years in Bloomfield. He retired from General Electric as a Service Technician in 1989 after 38 years. He was also an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. H was a member of various organizations such as the KOC in Hillside, the Home and School Association at Sacred Heart School, the American Legion (Miles Suarez Post) as well as the Teamsters Union of Electrical Engineers.
Buddy was the husband Faye DiCola Keifer for 59 years; father of Charles (Buddy) Keifer Jr. and his companion Dianne, Mary Beth Balkin and her husband Alan, Patricia Piacenza, and Brian Keifer and his wife Anne Marie; brother of Rose Marie Courtney, Rita Weil, Jeannette Palumbo and the late Arthur Ring. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.
