Cayetano Humberto Coppola, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at the O'Boyle Funeral Home 309 Broad St. Bloomfield on Monday at 11:00 a.m. Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington. Born in Buenos Aires Argentina on September 15, 1930, Cayetano immigrated to the United States in 1959. He took residence in Newark, NJ and married Ana Maria Kobler (also from Argentina) in 1962 and started a family. He is survived by his children Alfred and Lucy Coppola, Peter and Anne Marie Coppola, John Coppola and Cristina Murk (Coppola) and four grandchildren, Allison Murk, Samantha Mongiello, Stephanie Coppola and Michael Coppola. He is predeceased by his wife Ana Maria, his brothers Oscar and John, his sister Giselle and father and mother, Peter and Yolanda. Cayetano spent most of his adult life before retirement working in the Ironbound Section of Newark as a food vendor on Ferry Street. He spoke four languages (Spanish, English, Italian and Portuguese) and was an accomplished do-it yourselfer. He was an avid world cup soccer fan had a passion for good food and in particular enjoyed his Argentinean barbecue. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and his ease of starting a conversation with anyone. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association in his memory.
