Sara (Sadie) Mazzella, 95, passed away on Tuesday June 20th, 2017 at St. Clare's Hospital in Dover surrounded by her loving family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the O'Boyle Funeral Home, 309 Broad St. Bloomfield on Saturday at 9 AM. The funeral mass will be offered at Our Lady of the Lake Church, 32 Lakeside Ave. Verona at 10 AM. Interment Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Montclair. Visitation will be on Friday from 4-8 PM. Born in Verona, Sadie lived in Bloomfield and the last 54 years in Rockaway. Prior to marriage she worked as a hairdresser before becoming a homemaker.
Sadie was the wife of the late Salvatore R. Mazzella for 63 years; mother of Anna Ferrara and her husband Robert of Sparta, Joyce Mazzella-Smith and her husband Frank of Rockaway; sister of Annie Ponzio of Bloomfield, Maryann Flannery of Massachusetts and the late Nicholas Joseph and Frank Aldiero, and Jennie Riccobono; grandmother of Deanna Sanders and her husband Jerremy, Dara Gima and her husband Jesse, Michael Ferrara and Marisa Ferrara.
