Dr. Michelangelo J. Vaccaro, 55 of West Orange departed on November 1, 2012.
Born in Newark, Michelangelo lived in Nutley and Bloomfield before moving to West Orange 16 years ago.
He was a graduate of Seton Hall Preparatory School in 1975 where he excelled as an all-star ice hockey player. He then received his BA in Psychology from William Paterson University before receiving his degree from Life Chiropractic School in Marietta, Ga. He was owner of Vaccaro's Family Chiropractic Center in Belleville for 24 years.
Predeceased by his mother Margherita Gentile Vaccaro, he is survivied by his father, Angelo Vaccaro, his uncle Joseph Vaccaro, his aunt and uncle Veronica Gentile Wronski and Walter Wronski, Jr., three sisters, JoAnn Chalet-Furnari, Rosemary Cerracchio, and Christina (Paul) McFeeley of East Stroudsburg, Pa. He is also survived by his nephews, Daniel Chalet, Christopher Chalet, Sergeant Edward Cerracchio (Lindsey) of El Paso, Texas, Specialist Andrew (Tara) Cerracchio of Colorado Springs, Co., his great-nephew Santino Michael Cerracchio, his niece, Maria Chalet, his long-time friend Christina Virga and his friend Silvio Di Bello who cared for Michelangelo during the last few months of his life.
He will be greatly missed by his friends, co-workers and colleagues, several cousins and relatives and especially his beloved dog, Mioshi.
