Abi Edith Warner, age 91, a lifetime Lapeer area resident, died Friday, June 30, 2017. Abi was born July 30, 1925 in Dryden, to Cyrene and Marion (Braidwood) Arnold. She married Ronald C. Warner on October 12, 1946 at the Grace Episcopal Church in Lapeer. Mrs. Warner was a Registered Nurse, working many many years for Lapeer Community Schools and Lapeer County General Hospital. Abi was a devoted and longtime member of Grace Episcopal Church in Lapeer, where she served in many capacities. Mrs. Warner was actively involved with numerous local service organizations, helping out whenever she could. She was a strong supporter and volunteer with the American Red Cross, having received an award for over 65 years of service. In 1999 Ron and Abi were named Lapeer County Citizens of the year, the first "couple" to receive that honor. Abi was also a member of the Lapeer Hospital Auxiliary, the Daughters of the American Revolution and a 4-H Leader for many years.
Mrs. Warner is survived by her children: Sharilynn Willette of Flushing, Richard Warner of Lapeer and Meg (Charlene McLauchlan) Warner of Watsonville, California; grandchildren: Rich (Tina) Willette of Flushing, Debbie (Tino) Diaz of West Branch, Nathan (Kelly) Willette of Flushing, Nick (Whitney) Willette of Linden, Teresa (Del) Brown of Lapeer and Tracey Warner of Lapeer; great-grandchildren: Lance, Logan, Josie, Cameron, Kaylee, Blake, Tate, Nash, Charlie, Luke, Christopher, Devin, Wyatt, Justin and Jessica; and sister: Sarah (Larry) Parks of Lapeer. She was preceded in death by her husband: Ron Warner; parents: Cyrene and Marion Arnold; and brother: Frank Arnold.
Visitation will be 1-4 and 6-8PM Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer and 10-11AM Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Grace Episcopal Church in Lapeer. Abi's funeral service will be 11AM Thursday, at Grace Episcopal Church, 735 W. Nepessing, Lapeer, MI 48446. The Reverend Sarah Parks (Her Sister) will officiate, with burial to follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery Lapeer. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald Warner Scholarship Fund (LCCF), Grace Episcopal Church or Charity of Choice.
