Otto F. Flachsmann, age 87, of Suffolk, Virginia, died Sunday, June 11, 2017. Pastor Flachsmann was born November 6, 1929 in Michigan, to Otto and Muriel (Miller) Flachsmann. Otto lived in Michigan for many years and had served as a pastor in the United Methodist Church.

Pastor Flachsmann is survived by his son: Allan (Shari) Flachsmann; daughters: Alyce (Roger) Lyon and Kay (Rick) Liszka; grandchildren: Mychelle Flachsmann, Keri Hudson, Katie Ruehl and Stacy Casavan; and great-grandchildren: Christopher Hudson, Nathan Ruehl, Audrey Ruehl and Braden Casavan. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Audrey in 2006.

Visitation will be 4-8PM Sunday, June 18, 2017, at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer. No formal funeral service will take place here in Michigan. A graveside service for Otto will be held 11AM Monday, June 19, 2017, at the Grant Twp. Cemetery in Gagetown, Michigan. Rev. Grant Lobb, from the Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapeer, will officiate. Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 14, 1017 at the Ebenezer United Methodist Church 1589 Steeple Dr., Suffolk, Virginia 23433. R.W. Baker and Company Funeral Home handled the arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church Music Program, 1310 N. Main St., Lapeer, MI 48446.
