David Michael Houghtaling, 44, a lifetime resident of Lapeer, died Sunday, October 16, 2016.
David was born July 16, 1972 in Lapeer to Steven and Debra (Quinlan) Houghtaling. Dave attended Lapeer East High School. He worked for Lapeer Plating & Plastics. Dave was in his element when he was outdoors – he loved fishing and riding his bike. Above everything, Dave loved spending time with his son and his nieces & nephews.
David is survived by his son, David Houghtaling Jr.; mother, Debra (nee Quinlan)Hart of Lapeer; grandparents, Mike & Delores Quinlan of Holiday, FL; siblings: DeAnn (Carl) Hawkins of Lapeer, Jerry (Serena) Houghtaling of Hadley, Melissa (John Wilcox) Sanchez of Lapeer and Paul (Courtnie) Sanchez of Lapeer; step-father, Henry Sanchez of Lapeer; nieces and nephews: Alyssa, Mackenzie, Brandon, Parker, Gage, Kasun, Wyatt, Berlin and Trier; exwife, Kareen Houghtaling of Lapeer; uncle, Mike (Angie) Quinlan of Lapeer. Dave is also survived by many cousins, aunts, uncles and extended family. David was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents: Jackie & Dean Houghtaling.
Visitation be held 11AM-2PM Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. Dave's funeral service will be 2:00PM Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Muir Brothers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are very appreciated to the Family.
