Susan "Yahmie" (Childers) Samp, age 62, of Anderson, Indiana, formerly of Lapeer, died Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at St. Vincent's Regional Hospital in Anderson, after a brief illness.
Susan was a longtime resident of Lapeer, graduating from Lapeer High School. She was a bartender for multiple years and also a licensed real estate agent. She and her husband of 40 years, Paul, moved to Anderson about 10 years ago. Susan enjoyed gambling, but more than anything she loved and cherished her grandchildren.
Left to mourn Susan are her husband: Paul Samp; sons: Michael (Tina) Samp, Nicholas (Penny) Samp and Timothy (Ashlee) Samp; grandchildren: Arianna, Lilly, Grady, Sienna, Brook and Rachael; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers: Guy (Lori) Childers of Dryden and Scott Childers of Anderson, Indiana; special nephew Hunter; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Mrs. Samp was preceded in death by her parents: Tim and Shirley Childers; brother: Timmy; sister: Sandy and her beloved son: Mathew David.
Susan's memorial service will be 1:00PM Sunday, August 30, 2015 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer, Pastor Bob Starr officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, from Noon-1:00PM Sunday, August 25, 2015. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
