Lowell "Red" Bashore, 80, of Lapeer and Apollo Beach, FL, died Wednesday, May 27, 2015.
Lowell was born December 9, 1934 in Paulding, Ohio to parents Donaldo and Elizabeth (Petty) Bashore. He graduated from St. Mary's High School (Berkley, Michigan), class of 1951. Red served his country proudly in the US Navy during the Korean War. He married Carole Marie Fleming on May 12, 1956 at the Our Lady of LaSalette Church in Berkley, Michigan. Red was an electrician/splicer working many years at Michigan Bell. Above all, Red loved spending time with his family.
Red is survived by his children: Kim (Mike) Nicholes of Lapeer, Tim (Kay) Bashore of Pickford, MI, Shawn (Diane) Bashore of Lapeer and Lowell Jr. "Rusty" (Ann) Bashore of Lapeer; twelve grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; brother, Earl "Pete" (Sherry) Wedemeyer of Oxford; sister, Marlaina (Ken) Rawski of St. Clair Shores. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carole Marie Bashore in 2002; brother, Michael Wedemeyer; sister, Wilma Bennett and his parents.
Cremation has been entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. Interment with military honors will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date.
