Lucille Ella Bliss, age 88, of Lapeer, died Friday February 20, 2015. Mrs. Bliss was born April 19, 1926 in Lapeer, on the family farm, to parents Earl and Clara (Forbush) DeLong. Lucille graduated in 1947 from Lapeer High School. She married Frank R. Bliss on November 12, 1949 at the Lapeer Court House. Above all else, Lucille was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Bliss is survived by her children: Nancy (Tim) Watson of Memphis, Michigan and Berton (Diane) Bliss of Lapeer; grandchildren: Andrew (Billie) Bliss of Traverse City and Scott (Janae) Bliss of Swartz Creek; great-grandchildren: Lennon, Rhys and 2 more on the way; siblings: Donald (Retha) DeLong of Lapeer, Howard (Sharon) DeLong of Lapeer, Floyd (Sandy) DeLong of Lapeer, Harry (Karen) DeLong of Cheboygan and Helen (Dean) Goodrich of Lapeer; and many nieces and nephews. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband: Frank Bliss; parents: Earl and Clara DeLong; siblings: Walter DeLong, Evelyn Faulds and Vern DeLong.
Visitation will be 1-5 PM Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer. Funeral service will be 11:00AM Monday, February 23, 2015 at the funeral home, Rev. Arnold Bracy officiating, with burial to follow in Stiles Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Medi-Lodge in Richmond, 34901 Division, Richmond, MI 48206.
